Who I am

Senior Engineering Manager

I am a Senior Engineering Manager, originally from France, now living in London, UK.

I currently work for Cloudflare as a Sr. Engineering Manager for the Zero Trust desktop/mobile clients and their associated services (WARP, Cloudflare Tunnel).

Volunteer and Volunteer Manager

I have been a volunteer with the London Ambulance Service since 2018, responding on blue lights to 999 calls alongside ambulances, providing life-saving emergency treatment to critically ill members of the public.

I previously was a volunteer with St John Ambulance between 2012 and 2022, providing First Aid at events, and managing a unit of ~90 volunteers (adults + cadets).

What I do

Passion for the vision

I choose my workplace based on the company's "why". I care about a company's product(s) and its vision for it/them. I work best with companies that have a clear focus and vision, and when I share the values and ethics of its Senior Leadership.

I also care to work with a company and a team that are driven and eager to bring value to the world. I connect strongly with this famous Apple quote:

The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.

Leadership

I care about my teams feeling supported, and having a clear vision. I aim to lead with openness and honesty, mixed with empathy and compassion.

I believe in giving teams a clear sense of "why". Teams with a clear vision and purpose have a greater sense of belonging. They tend to work because they want to, not because they have to, in turn accelerating innovation and productivity.

Quality and Pragmatism

I strongly believe that spending time on writing quality software is a positive investment in the long term, which later allows spending more time building great features instead of spending endless hours fixing bugs.

I also believe that it is important to be pragmatic enough to understand the reality of deadlines, customer requests, shareholders/investors' expectations, and all other external factors.

From the ideation/planning phase to the release of the product, I aim for quality first, but balance it with pragmatism in order to build the best product in the most realistic amount of time.

Users First

Without users, there is no product. While software is a passion, I know it is important to keep in mind who the code is ultimately written for: the users.

Passion drives people, and I aim to write products that users are passionate about. That requires understanding the market, understanding what problems are being solved, constantly listening to and welcoming user feedback, amongst many other factors.

Software goes beyond code, and it is important to build a product users connect with and trust. Being attentive and responsive (or pre-emptive!) to customers' needs, requests, or issues is a key component to successful software that I bring to all work I do.
